Here are the steps I took to install the dual system:

1.I went to the forum to read the posts of the seniors and learned about the situation. Thanks to them!

2.**XP, a Dell OEM disc image for Vista U, and then burn the disk (select "Verify data when finished" when burning to ensure the integrity of the installation disk).

Note: If you do not want to upgrade your ISTA HOME BASIC (B version) to Vista Ultimate (U version), you can do without the Dell OEM image of Vista U.

4.Go to Vista Disk Management, resize the D drive, right-click and select the D drive, select "Compress Volume", enter 30G (may be 30000M) in the pop-up window, OK, and generate a new partition. Then format this new partition and set the drive letter to the disk to hold the XP.

Remove the original drive letter to hide it.

5.In the Vista interface, insert the Vista U installation CD, select Upgrade Installation, and upgrade B to U. The upgrade is complete.

6.Insert the XP installation CD, reboot or start the computer, F12 select Start from CDROM to start installing XP, select D disk during installation, and keep the D disk format for installation.

7.After installing the XP, you will go directly to the XP system, and there will be no menu to select which operating system to enter. At this time, use the Vista Boot Pro software to set it up so that the selection menu appears at boot time.

    8.Install XP drivers, other software.

Finally my machine is C: 40G, Vista system, D: 30G, XP system, E: 30G to put data. The other partitions are not touched.

Just reserve a blank partition and you're done! But you'll have to launch the menu yourself! It's a hassle!

Don't know how good your computer is! If you don't know much about the BIOS and boot files, I recommend that you don't mess around! Otherwise, you won't even be able to turn on the machine and you'll be done!

1: Next Master Boot Disk Maker, and then make the USB flash drive into a boot disk.

2: Put the system files of Win7 in the GHO folder in the boot disk.

3: Insert the boot disk, and then restart the computer to install the win7 system for the computer. (Note: It must not be installed in the original system disk, as long as it is installed on the D disk).

4: Use the boot repair tool to switch between the two systems. If you don't know how to go to the U Master homepage to watch the tutorial yourself.
