It can be accessed from the toolbar of the main window"Add a task"button or menu"Add a task"to start a new task, or right-click on the URL link of the torrent file in Internet Explorer and select it from the pop-up menu"With BitGenie **".This will see the Add New Task screen, specify the category and path, and press OK to add a new task. In the advanced options, you can see detailed settings for the task.
Here's a quick explanation of the options.
1) The torrent file of the task: If the task is added through the IE menu, then the box after "torrent" will automatically fill in the URL link of the torrent file, otherwise, you need to manually add the disk path or URL path of the torrent file;
2) The category or path of the task: select the category for the task in the category column, if there is no category setting, BitGenie will save the task in the default base path (usually the downloads directory of the installation disk), you can change the category path or add or delete the category through the "" button; You can also do it at:"Save to"One column directly specifies the save path.
3) Maximum cache block: The maximum cache block refers to the maximum number of cache blocks that can be used when the task is running, which is used to specify the size of the task cache. The default standard block size of BitGenie is 256kb
If the chunk size of a task is different from the default chunk, the bitgenie will automatically convert to the default chunk to determine the maximum cache of the task. For example, if the actual block of a task is 512 KB and the maximum cache block is 50, the maximum cache of the task is (256 x 50) KB, and the actual maximum number of cache blocks is 50 (512 256) = 25.
BitGenie uses caching technology to protect the hard disk, and the reasonable setting of the maximum cache block varies depending on the network speed and hardware settings.
4) ** Before pre-allocating disk space. With this option selected, BitGenie will pre-allocate disk space in advance, which may take a long time and a high CPU, especially when the task is larger, but it can reduce disk fragmentation and ensure that there is enough space to complete the task. If you do not select it, BitGenie will enter the connection state faster, but there is no guarantee that there is enough disk space (in the process, if the disk space is insufficient, BitGenie will automatically abort the task) and some disk fragmentation may occur.
5) **Number of connections and number of uploaded connections. **The number of connections refers to the number of active connections initiated by BitGenie from the local area (represented by an upward blue arrow on the connection page), while the number of uploaded connections refers to the number of connected connections (represented by a yellow downward arrow on the connection page).In general, it is easier to get data by uploading a connection.
