Wang Erxiao's original name was Yan Fuhua, a native of Nanzhuanlonggou Village, Zhaibei Township, Pingshan County, Hebei Province, and he was the second oldest in the family, and everyone in the village called him Yan Erxiao.

On September 16, 1941, the second elementary school was grazing cattle on a large hillside, and more than 300 Japanese troops attacked the south rolling dragon ditch.

He led the ox wittily and led the devil to slowly turn around the three trenches, from more than 9 o'clock in the morning to more than 3 o'clock in the afternoon. At the top of Erdaoquan Mountain, he violently hugged a devil and fought, wanting to jump off the cliff with the devil and die together, but he was stabbed through the chest from behind with a bayonet by another devil.

At this time, the armed echelon of the newspaper office ambushed on Jiaoding Mountain launched an attack and annihilated this enemy in one fell swoop.

During the Anti-Japanese War, Wang Erxiao's hometown was the anti-Japanese base of the Eighth Route Army, and was often "swept away" by Japanese devils. On October 25, 1942 (September 16 of the lunar calendar), the Japanese devils came to "sweep" again and got lost when they walked to the mountain pass. When the enemy saw Wang Erxiao grazing cattle on the hillside, they asked him to lead the way.

Wang Erxiao pretended to be obedient and walked in front, and in order to protect the villagers who were transferring and hiding, he brought the enemy into the ambush circle of the Eighth Route Army. Suddenly, gunshots rang out in all directions, and the enemy knew that he had been deceived, so he angrily killed Wang Erxiao with a bayonet. Wang Erxiao, a witty and brave little hero, was brutally killed by the Japanese invaders and died in Langyakou Village, Laiyuan County, at the age of 13.

At this time, the Eighth Route Army rushed down from the mountains and wiped out all the enemy.

One day in 1943, in a small mountain village in Laiyuan, Hebei Province, the devil sweep came, and the Eighth Route Army and cadres organized the villagers to transfer. The second elementary school and the villagers moved to the foot of the Great Wall.

Company Commander Wu led the team to the other side of the mountain, saying that he would make an encirclement and wait for the devils to drill.

The devil is coming. The second child saw the devil walking in the direction of the villagers' transfer, and he was anxious, so he sang the cow herding song and walked out.

The devil saw Erxiao on the hillside and asked Erxiao to lead the way for them.

The second child led a strong cow and left with the devil.

The second little led the devil around in the mountains, the cunning devil became suspicious, and the devil pulled out his sword and threatened the second child. Er Xiao was very calm in his heart, but he pretended to be scared, and said to the devil, there is a road over there, and you can find the eighth road by crossing it. The devil said:

You lie, you want to deceive the Imperial Army. Er**: "Then forget it, I don't want to go anyway."

The devil believed Erxiao and followed him.

When they arrived at the ravine where the Eighth Route Army was ambushed, the two small people cleverly ran from the side of the ditch to the mountain. Company Commander Wu shouted for the second elementary school to run quickly, and at the same time shot and killed the devil who was aiming at the second elementary school. But the captain of the devil squad caught up with Er Xiao with a big gun, pierced the bayonet into Er Xiao's body, and picked Er Xiao to the hillside.

Erxiao fell like a leaf, and all the leaves on the mountain fell together, and blood stained every leaf and green grass.

The Eighth Route Army launched an offensive and eliminated the devils. As if he wanted revenge, the big strong bull used his sharp horns to provoke the devil team to death.

The villagers put the second child on a stretcher. Company Commander Wu shouted Erxiao, and the villagers shouted Erxiao, but Erxiao's eyes were closed peacefully. He couldn't hear it anymore.

After Wang Erxiao died, the local soldiers and civilians buried him on the hillside of Liujiazhuang. At that time, Comrade Zhang Shikui (later a retired cadre of Baoding City), a cadre of the Laiyuan County Youth Rescue Association, got the news and immediately reported it to the Youth Rescue Association of the border area. According to this report, lyricist Fang Bing and composer Rob Fu immediately created the song "Singing the Second Little Cowherd".

This song has been sung to this day and has infected countless teenagers. Now, Wang Erxiao's grave is covered with grass. The big stone that stained him red with blood is still lying quietly in the ravine, and people call it "the blood-colored stone".
