The interpretation of Liang Xiaosheng's four sentences of culture is as follows:
1. Cultivation rooted in the heart
In five years, the stack of manuscripts grew thicker and thicker, reaching more than 3,600 pages. The words on the manuscript paper were neat and quiet at first; After two or three hundred thousand words, these words slowly woke up, and individual strokes probed into the brain; After more than 300,000 words, Liang Xiaosheng couldn't hold back the punches and kicks between the lines; In the end, I simply wrote it on A4 blank paper.
I miss the scene I've seen: a small wooden table, a small wooden chair, and on the table is a stack of large 400-word manuscript paper marked with the words "Beijing Language and Culture University". The small table is placed on the north-facing balcony, and the sun shines out the window.
Liang Xiaosheng sat here, writing stroke by stroke, completely like a craftsman climbing the lattice.
3. Freedom on the premise of constraints
I have been to Liang Xiaosheng's home in the Peony Garden many times. A small neighborhood in a narrow side street. Teacher Liang said that the side street is much smoother now.
In the past few years, people have come and gone, and small traders and hawkers have been flowing endlessly. There is a good point: when I get downstairs, I am down-to-earth, which is suitable for me to write**.
4. Kindness for the sake of others:
To carry forward the feelings of family and country through literary and artistic creation, we must have the courage to express the world outlook, outlook on life and values that the Chinese nation has inherited to the present day and are rich in the spirit of the times, externalize the spiritual pursuit of the Chinese, write the efforts made by the Chinese in the process of realizing their personal ideals and national interests, and clearly reflect what they advocate, what they reject, and what they adhere to.
5. Stick to your heart:
The World (three volumes) is the latest novel by the famous writer Liang Xiaosheng**, which has been polished for several years. The work takes the life trajectory of a commoner surnamed Zhou in the northern provincial capital city as a clue, from the 70 years of the 20th century to the present day after the reform and opening up, depicting the great changes in Chinese society and the ups and downs of people's lives from multiple angles, directions and levels.

What is culture, culture is a very broad and humanistic concept. To put it simply, culture is a general term for the form of human life elements in the region, and the four sentences of the writer Liang Xiaosheng are summarized very classically, rooted in the inner cultivation, the consciousness that does not need to be reminded, the freedom based on constraints, and the kindness for the sake of others, these four sentences are actually not difficult to understand.
In fact, it is the interpretation of a person's culture and upbringing, a person's academic qualifications and knowledge are the basic yardsticks to measure the person's culture, but whether there is culture or the level of culture cannot be equated with the person's upbringing. That is to say, our current definition of whether a person is cultured is often multi-faceted, and it should not only be knowledge, but also educated and qualified.
C3 (the amount of renunciation) says: Cultivation is in the grand event of samsara, there is no hope for a moment, day and night only to seek liberation, and the beginning is to give birth to renunciation. After preaching the boundaries of renunciation and practicing one by relying on the above-mentioned four preliminary thoughts, then in the three realms of samsara, all the worldly things that flourish in the Three Realms of Samsara will not arise in one's heart for a moment of desire, greed and envy, etc., and only when the mind diligently and tirelessly seeks liberation from the cycle of birth and death day and night, so that the mind of diligent and unremitting desire to liberate the cycle of birth and death day and night truly arises, then the true and unfalse boundaries of renunciation can be said to arise in this realm. >>>More
If it rains tomorrow, I'm not going to dance. If I have time, I will go on a tour. If there is a power outage tomorrow, we will have a holiday. If it doesn't rain on Sunday this week, we're going on a spring outing.
