What does a bodhisattva represent, and what does a bodhisattva mean?

Bodhisattva is the abbreviation of Bodhisattva, Bodhi is the meaning of enlightenment, and Sata is the meaning of sentient beings, which together means enlightenment and affection. That is, to seek Bodhi from above, and to transform sentient beings from below.

There are four great bodhisattvas in Chinese Buddhism, Manjushri who manifests wisdom and compassion. Avalokiteshvara manifests the sorrow in the wish of wisdom and compassion. The Bodhisattva of Fuxian shows the line of wisdom and compassion. King Jizo Bodhisattva manifests the wish of wisdom and compassion.

Bodhisattva, the transliteration of the Sanskrit word Bodhisattva, abbreviated as "Bodhisattva", translates "Feeling Sentient Beings", "Dao Sentient Beings", and "Dao Heart Sentient Beings".

Bodhi, the meaning of enlightenment, wisdom, and Tao; Satta, sentient beings, sentient beings. Together with the sound and the senses, they are called the three vehicles. It is also one of the Ten Realms.

That is, a practitioner who seeks supreme bodhi with wisdom, transforms sentient beings with compassion, cultivates paramitras, and attains Buddhahood in the future. That is, those who are self-interested and altruistic, and who are brave enough to seek Bodhi.

As far as the two vehicles of sound and hearing and dependent consciousness are concerned, if they are viewed from the point of view of seeking bodhi (enlightenment), they can also be called bodhisattvas.

Bodhisattva is the abbreviation of "Bodhisattva", and the ruler refers to the person who seeks the Tao and the great enlightenment, and the person who seeks the Tao with a big heart.

Jizo Bodhisattva, Jizo Bodhisattva has rescued his mother who was suffering in hell several times in his past life; And for a long time now, he has made a constant vow to save all sentient beings who are suffering from sin, especially those in hell. Therefore, this bodhisattva is widely spread by Buddhism with the virtues of "great filial piety" and "great vow" at the same time.

Maitreya Buddha is the successor of the world-honored Shakyamuni Buddha, who will be born in the world of Suva in the future and become the next Buddha (also called the future Buddha) in the world of Suva, that is, the fifth Buddha among the thousand Buddhas of the virtuous calamity, often called "Maitreya Buddha in the next life".

A practitioner who seeks supreme bodhi with wisdom, transforms sentient beings with compassion, cultivates paramitras, and attains Buddhahood in the future. Those who seek Bodhi bravely. As far as the two vehicles of sound and hearing and dependent consciousness are concerned, if they are viewed from the viewpoint of seeking bodhi (enlightenment), they can also be called bodhisattvas; And Mahayana practitioners who specifically refer to the supreme bodhi are called:

Mahasattva (Brahma-sattva, Maha, meaning great), Mahasattva, Bodhisattva Mahasattva, Bodhisattva Mahasattva, Mahabodhisattva Titisattva, etc., to distinguish it from the two vehicles.

Bodhisattva is the necessary identity of all beings to become Buddhas, sentient beings to become Buddhas, must first make a great wish, the most important of which are four, called the four grand vows: "All sentient beings have boundless vows, endless troubles vow to be broken, the Dharma is immeasurable vow to learn, and the supreme vow of Buddhism is fulfilled." It can be seen that it is not easy to become a bodhisattva worthy of the name.
