The formulation of the funeral subsidy policy for urban and rural residents is of great significance for improving the pension insurance system for urban and rural residents, protecting the basic rights and interests of the insured, reflecting social fairness, maintaining safety, and promoting the sustainable development of the system. Since the issuance of the "Opinions on the Establishment of a Unified Basic Pension Insurance System for Urban and Rural Residents" (Guo Fa 2014 No. 8), 21 provinces across the country have established a funeral subsidy system at the provincial level according to local conditions.

There are three main ways: first, the implementation of a unified funeral subsidy standard throughout the province, such as Tianjin stipulates that the funeral subsidy standard is 1,800 yuan; The second is the unified funeral subsidy calculation and issuance standard in the province, such as the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region stipulates that the funeral subsidy standard is calculated and issued according to the 12-month basic pension standard; Third, it is determined by each locality according to the scope of the funeral subsidy standard stipulated by the province, such as Shandong Province stipulates that the standard range of funeral subsidy is 500 to 1,000 yuan. Although other provinces have not established a funeral subsidy system at the provincial level, they support and encourage cities and counties to explore the establishment of a funeral subsidy system for urban and rural residents in light of local conditions.

The latest funeral expenses in 2022 are usually as follows:

1. The funeral subsidy and one-time relief fee shall be paid to the immediate family members in a lump sum according to the average salary of the city in 3 and 10 months of the previous year;

2. The relief allowance for supporting immediate family members is usually paid monthly according to the sum of the local living hardship subsidy standard and price subsidy;

3. Those who support an immediate family member shall be paid 200% of the subsidy standard for the living difficulties of the employees of the local urban enterprises.

2) The pension for dependent relatives shall be paid to the relatives who provided the main livelihood of the employee who died on the job and were unable to work according to a certain proportion of the employee's own salary. The standard is: 40% per month for spouses, 30% per month for each other relative, and 10% per month for each elderly person or orphan who is a potato shooter.

What documents are required to receive retirement funeral expenses.

1. The original invoice or cremation certificate of the deceased, and a photocopy;

2. The original and a copy of the deceased's ID card and household registration book;

3. Identity certificate of legal heir;

4. The original and a copy of the ID card of the legal heir;

5. After death, the treatment will be uniformly transferred to the bank account of the deceased to receive the pension;
