Including "Homesickness" and "On the Rivers and Lakes", many of the poems in Yu Guang are influenced by the lyric structure of American rock music. He deliberately wrote his poems in a format that was easy to compose. Ma Shifang once said:

Yu Guangzhong opened the era of Taiwanese poetry and music composition. Yu Guangzhong was exposed to the civil rights movement and folk rock while in the United States. In 58, Yu Guangzhong wrote his most representative early modern poem "Xiluo Bridge". This poem uses the bridge of "the soul of steel awake" on the turbid water stream in Tainan to present the "pattern of force, the net of beauty", expressing the thoughts of various forces handing over, superimposing, and biting into a strong person, and expressing the perception of "crossing the river", which is different from oneself and becoming a living person.

Tower", "The Eve of the Harvest of Gui", "The Faun of the Homeland", "Lawrence of Arabia", "Memory is as Long as a Railroad Track"...I once copied the whole of his essays into a small notebook and memorized them, and each one was very amazing, and each one was very powerful. I have to say that those words really affected me.

The second- and third-rate level is not as high as Love.

In his 1972 collection of essays, The Crane Burner, there was an essay entitled "Rock and Roll and Modern Poetry". He once recalled that when he was in Denver in the United States in 1969, the most able sustenance to relieve sorrow was not literature, **, not classical**, but folk songs and rock. 」
