A colleague of the school, who teaches history to an English teacher, went to a middle school in the United States to teach Chinese last year, and returned to school this year after successfully completing the teaching mission.
I was very interested in foreign education, so I immediately approached him and asked him to talk about how the teachers and students in this middle school in the United States conduct their classes. How is it different from our domestic ones? Based on what he presented, I summarized the following points:
1.The teachers in this middle school in the United States have fixed classrooms. American teachers' teaching, lesson preparation, rest, and meals are all on the same floor as the classroom, and the teacher's class is a fixed classroom, unlike in China, where most of our teachers take several classes to class, and this class is completed and the next classroom is changed to another class.
2.In this school in the United States, students attend classes on a shift basis, which means that students do not attend the same classroom in each class, and they will go to the classroom where the teacher teaches which subject they should learn in this class. In China, students have a special fixed classroom, and they almost always attend classes in the same classroom.
That is to say, the situation of this school in the United States is that the teacher teaches in a fixed classroom, and the students go to class, and there is no fixed classroom, which is just different from most schools in China, where students attend a fixed classroom, and teachers go to different classrooms. Now the teaching model of the 3 plus 3 model of our college entrance examination reform may be similar to the teaching model of the United States, and students can choose to study in class independently. Due to the beginning of the reform, many schools are short of teachers and incomplete teaching facilities, at the beginning there are still most schools set up a few, temporarily maintain the current teaching model, I believe that with the maturity of the reform, it will be the same as the teaching model of this middle school in the United States, the teacher is fixed, and the students go to class.
3.In the United States, classes are from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., with no morning reading and evening self-study. There is only a 5-minute break between classes, and there is only 1 hour for students to eat at noon, and meals are almost all brought from home, and the school does not have a cafeteria.
4.Most of the classes in domestic high schools are morning self-study at about 7 o'clock, regular classes at about 8 o'clock until about 12 o'clock, classes start at about 2 o'clock in the afternoon and end at about 6 o'clock in the afternoon, and there are nearly 3 hours of evening self-study in the evening. The break between classes is 10 minutes for every two classes, and the school has a cafeteria at noon, which is almost a 2-hour break, and the school generally arranges a lunch break.
It can be seen that the class time of this middle school in the United States is less than that of domestic middle schools, and the morning is very compact; Students do not have a dormitory arrangement, and they return home after school in the afternoon to make their own arrangements, and there is almost no homework.
Of course, different schools may vary, but it can be seen that American students still have more independent time, I don't know what you think?

In reality, a considerable number of our students have been in the position of being arranged and assigned for a long time, and the learning content and learning methods, including the content and form of homework, have been fully arranged by teachers and parents around the purpose of "efficient, fast and successful". Our students don't need to explore, they don't have to try, they don't have to fail, the road in front of them is determined by adults, and there is only one thing students can think of and do, and that is - to complete.
Three must-haves, snapchat, facebook, and twitter.
Twitter is a little smaller, Facebook's old social software company is very stable, and Snapchat has exploded quickly because of the function of "burning after reading", and now the number of users has surpassed Facebook, which is also very strong. >>>More
First of all, it is necessary to make sufficient preparations before the trial lecture, understand the relevant background and other knowledge of the content to be taught, and combine the content of the course with these backgrounds, mainly to pay attention to how to make the background knowledge attractive and guide people to the content of the textbook. >>>More
