Gong Zizhen, Qing Dynasty
The vast and sorrowful white is good at the sun, and the whip refers to the trembling ants that are the end of the world.

Background of the writing of Jihai Miscellaneous Poems: In the nineteenth year of Daoguang (1839), Gong Zizhen was 48 years old, disappointed by the rulers of the Qing Dynasty, and resolutely resigned and returned to the south, returned to his hometown, and then went north to meet his dependents. Later, a total of 315 pieces of paper were obtained, and 315 poems were composed, and "The Book with Wu Hongsheng" was written, and a giant group of poems was written.
Original text: The vast and sorrowful day is slanting, and the whip points to the end of the world. Falling red is not a ruthless thing, turning into spring mud is more protective of flowers.
Translation: The mighty parting sorrow extends to the distance of the sunset, leaving Beijing, the horsewhip waves eastward, and it feels like a person at the end of the world. I resigned and returned to my hometown, like a fallen flower falling from a branch, but it is not a merciless thing, it has turned into spring soil, and it has returned energy and played a role in nurturing the next generation.
Appreciation: The author resigned angrily at that time, leaving relatives and friends, and was full of sadness. The word "vast" not only expresses the depth of melancholy, but also contains various complex thoughts and feelings, such as dissatisfaction with the society at that time, anger at those in power, and worries about the lives of the people.
The vast and sorrowful day is slanting. The sorrow of parting has filled the world and is uncontrollable, not to mention that when the sun is setting and the sun is setting, the poet's mood at this time can be imagined. If we use the phrase structure to analyze the meaning and take sorrow as the central word, then the vast is the definite word of sorrow, and the white sun is the complement of sorrow.
The day is slanted to say that the author returned to the south with sorrow, because the sorrow was accumulated in the chest, so it felt that time passed quickly, and before he knew it, it was getting weaker. Instead of talking about the sunset, the day is taken here, which coincides with the author's mood at that time, and it is also a metaphor for the social reality of the declining country at that time.
