When running a complex operating system like Windows on your computer, you may not always understand the importance of all the files in your computer. Sometimes, Windows uses files that are used for a specific purpose and then keeps those files in the folders assigned to temporary files. Or, you may have installed a Windows component that you no longer use.

For a number of reasons, including running out of hard drive space, you may need to reduce the number of files on your disk or create more free disk space without harming any program.

Use the Disk Cleanup Wizard for Windows to perform all of the following tasks to clear space on your hard disk

Delete temporary internet files.

Clear the ** station.

Delete Windows temporary files.

Delete Windows components that are no longer in use.

Delete installed programs that are no longer in use.

Disk Defragmenter OverviewDisk Defragmenter analyzes local volumes and merges fragmented files and folders so that each file or folder can occupy a separate and contiguous amount of disk space on the volume. Clean Junk Files, Clean Disk Fragmentation!

1. Open the computer, right-click on the system drive letter, and select "Properties".

2. In the "General" tab of the properties interface, click "Disk Cleanup".
