Yangshuo West Street is located in the center of Yangshuo County, Guilin City, not far from the hotel where we stayed, a short walk away.

West Street is nearly a kilometer long, with marble pavement, curved serpentine streets, antique house buildings, and strong local characteristics. A variety of tourist souvenirs and snacks are gathered in the market. Its exotic night scene is full of charm and customs.

It is also a gathering place for artists, and the four great kings of Chinese painting in the last century, Qi Baishi, Xu Beihong, Zhang Daqian and Huang Binhong, have all lingered here.

West Street, also known as Foreigner's Street, has a history of more than 1,000 years. Most of the residents on the street are local farmers, and for a long time they have maintained a semi-commercial and half-agricultural state of "half village and half shop, which can be used for business and farming", so that the people of Xijie have formed the dual character of open-minded people in the city and loyal people in the village.

After the changes of the times, Xijie is still a typical building scale of villages and towns in southern China, but it shows the cultural landscape of international style. Most of the decoration styles of bars, restaurants, Internet cafes, handicrafts and calligraphy and painting shops here are a combination of Chinese and Western, with foreign language signs, and waiters in handicraft and calligraphy shops, restaurants, bars, ordinary residents and even old ladies selling fruits on the street can speak fluent English, which gives West Street a strong exotic color.

There are a lot of exquisite small commodities on West Street, which attracted our attention, and everyone acted separately and chose their own. Some goods have a lot of premiums, depending on whether you can bargain, if you happen to have a local acquaintance following, it is guaranteed that you will bargain until you doubt your life. Later, I heard that in fact, there are many small commodities here from Yiwu, Zhejiang.

There is a husband and wife colleagues, they took a fancy to a huge folding fan in the handicraft painting and calligraphy shop, this kind of folding fan is opened and hung on the wall for decoration, which depicts the famous scenic spot Elephant Trunk Mountain in Guilin city with freehand Chinese painting techniques, which is majestic and artistic. The store initially asked for 60 yuan, but was finally cut to 8 yuan and taken away. This kind of bargaining broke through my imagination, and obviously the store will not lose money and make money, which can only show that they have very high-quality purchase channels.

At the east end of West Street is the important port of the Li River, the Li River Wharf, from which passengers go ashore after swimming on the Li River. In every corner of West Street, tourists of different colors sit in groups to drink beer, drink coffee, and play and chat together. Walking around West Street, you will find that there are many foreigners walking with you or at the same table; There are backpackers who are looking around or burying their heads in the sprint; There is a fortune teller in a robe and long beard who is ready to give the world guidance, and there is a village woman who carries Xu Xing to sell local products; There are very authentic Western food and very non-authentic teahouses.

At night, West Street is some fresh, some natural, and some bright. Take a walk along the river on Binjiang Road to melt away the fatigue of the day. In the various colors of neon lights, the curtain of the global village of West Street was also slowly opened at this moment, exuding a rich exotic style, blooming warmly like a rose, completely self-contained, without reservation.

The whole journey from Yangshuo to West Street is about one kilometer.

1.From the starting point, head northeast, drive along Qingquan Road for 90 meters and turn right into Chengxi Road.

2.Drive along Chengxi Road for 570 meters and turn slightly left into Pantao Road.

4.Drive along Diecui Road for 150 meters and turn right.
