Loongson was successfully developed on September 29, 2002, the English name of Loongson is godson, and the homophonic nickname in Chinese is "enough to win". by the Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Authorized by Beijing Shenzhou Loongson Integrated Circuit Design Co., Ltd., the early batch samples are currently by TSMC in Taiwan.
Production There are currently 2 generations produced: Loongson No. 1 and Loongson No. 2.
1. Loongson No. 1:
Loongson No. 1 CPU IP core.
It is a 32-bit processor core that takes into account the characteristics of both general-purpose and embedded CPUs, adopts MIPS III-like instruction set, and has a seven-stage pipeline, a 32-bit integer unit and a 64-bit floating-point unit. Loongson One CPU IP core is highly flexible and configurable, which is convenient for integrating various standard interfaces. Figure 1 shows the configurable structure of Loongson's CPU IP-core, where the dotted line indicates that users can choose the configuration according to their own needs, so as to customize the most suitable processor structure for the user's application.
2. Loongson No. 2:
Loongson-2 CPU adopts an advanced four-transmitter superscalar super-flow structure, on-chip first-level instructions and data cache.

6. Domestic Loongson.
Godson, nicknamed Gouyu, is a general-purpose processor with independent intellectual property rights owned by the state, and currently has 2 generations of products. The latest Loongson 2F has caught up with the level of Intel's mid-range P4.
7. VIA China.
VIA, a Taiwanese motherboard chipset manufacturer, has acquired the aforementioned CPU divisions of Cyrix and IDT, and launched its own CPU, which can be compared with Intel's economical CPUs, with a power consumption of only 1W, and is struggling to survive under the dual pressure of Intel and AMD.

Domestic CPUs include Huawei Kunpeng, Feiteng CPU, Haiguang CPU, Loongson, Zhaoxin, and Shenwei.
Among them, Huawei Kunpeng and Feiteng CPUs use ARM architecture, Loongson uses MIPS architecture, Zhaoxin and Haiguang CPUs use X86 architecture, and Shenwei uses Alpha architecture.

Therefore, Loongson wants to replace Intel, in the field of personal CPU, it is also a little difficult, mostly used in industrial control, as well as some education, administration, etc., where performance and ecological requirements are not high, but there are high requirements for safety, autonomy and controllability.
Let's talk about Shenwei, Shenwei is mainly used for supercomputers, such as Sunway Taihu Light, which once won the title of the world's first supercomputer, and its performance is currently ranked 4th in the world.
The same Shenwei is also used for servers, but because it is also an alpha architecture, it cannot be installed with Windows, and it is difficult to be used in the field of personal PCs, and can only partially replace Intel's server chips and supercomputing chips.
Finally, let's talk about Haiguang CPU and Zhaoxin, these two CPUs use x86 architecture, the biggest advantage is that Windows can be installed, to meet everyone's requirements for Windows ecology, and it is more suitable for individual consumer PC products.
However, Haiguang CPU is mainly used for servers, and Zhaoxin can be used for personal PCs, but in terms of performance, compared with Intel, it is basically a gap of about 3-5 years, and mainstream desktops and notebooks are still quite few.
