In order to standardize the production, sales and use of such products, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development has issued the industry product standard, and requires relevant enterprises and construction projects to take the standard as a reference when selecting external wall insulation materials to ensure the thermal insulation effect and construction quality of buildings.

According to this standard, the external insulation material of the exterior wall of the concrete composite polystyrene board for construction must meet the following requirements:

1.The thermal conductivity of the material should meet the limits specified by the state to ensure that it has good thermal insulation performance;

2.The compressive strength and impermeability of the material should meet the requirements of the national building materials standard;

3.The material should have good aging resistance, good weather resistance, and good fire performance;

4.The specifications, size, shape and quality of materials should comply with the provisions of national standards or technical specifications.

The issuance of this standard aims to regulate the market of external insulation materials for building concrete composite polystyrene board exterior walls, improve the quality and performance of products, and ensure the safety and reliability of buildings. The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development will strengthen the supervision and inspection of the implementation of the standard to ensure that relevant enterprises and projects use qualified external insulation materials for building concrete composite polystyrene board exterior walls in accordance with the requirements of the standard.

It can be used, but the insulation effect is not as good as the extruded plastic board, and the EPS belongs to the B2 level, and there is no clear provision that it can be used now, but it has actually been loosened.

Chapter I: General Provisions.

Article 1 These provisions apply to the fire design, construction and use of external thermal insulation systems and exterior wall decorations of civil buildings.

Article 2 The combustion performance of the external thermal insulation materials of civil buildings should be Class A and should not be lower than Class B1.

Article 3 The design, construction and use of external thermal insulation systems and exterior wall decoration fire prevention of civil buildings, in addition to the implementation of these interim provisions, shall also comply with the relevant provisions of the current national standards and specifications.
