There are 3 stamps in the full set, and a souvenir sheet, which shows Zheng He's fleet in the West, and the 3 stamps are "Portrait of Zheng He", "Good Neighborliness" and "Scientific Navigation", and the theme of love for the motherland runs through the whole set of stamps.

In terms of artistic treatment and expression, this set of stamps draws on the expressions of traditional Chinese paintings, especially traditional Chinese woodblock prints, and incorporates modern design consciousness and design concepts. 600 years ago, Chinese Zheng He led a huge fleet of more than 27,000 people to the Western Ocean seven times, through Southeast Asia, the Indian Ocean to the Red Sea and Africa, visiting more than 30 countries and regions in Asia and Africa, establishing and consolidating the Maritime Silk Road, spreading the seeds of friendship, promoting economic development, increasing friendly exchanges between countries, and making great contributions to the progress of world civilization.

Zheng He (1371-1435), whose real name was Ma He, was a native of Jinning, Yunnan. Because of his meritorious service in raising troops with Zhu Di, the king of Yan, he was given the surname Zheng. He was a palace eunuch during his tenure.

Zheng He was a great navigator of the Ming Dynasty in China. In the 28 years from 1405 to 1433, he led the Ming Dynasty fleet on seven voyages, reaching more than 30 countries, as far as the east coast of Africa. He was a messenger of peace and opened up China's political ties with Asian and African countries.

Wherever he went, Zheng He exchanged Chinese magnets, silk, gold and silver for local specialties, which promoted economic and cultural exchanges between China and Asian and African countries. Zheng He's voyage preceded the voyage of Columbus and da Gama by more than half a century. At that time, the largest ship Zheng He rode was about 150 meters long and 60 meters wide, which could accommodate 1,000 people, and the fleet was very large.

The year 1985 is the 580th anniversary of Zheng He's voyage to the West, and in order to commemorate this feat in the history of world navigation, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of the People's Republic of China issued this set of commemorative stamps on July 11, 1985.

This series of four stamps comprises.

The first is "The Great Navigator Zheng He". On the picture, a modest and heroic eunuch in the prime of life, wearing a black veil on his head, embroidered with a golden python on his robe, holding a scroll of nautical charts, his eyes shot into the distance, and behind him was the changing waves of the sea, which set off the demeanor of this great navigator.

The second is "Messenger of Peace". The picture shows Zheng He's trip to Guli. According to relevant historical records, Zheng He's fleet visited many places in India, such as Guri (present-day Kozhikode, India), Kechi (present-day Cochin, India), Little Gülen (present-day Quilon, India), and Gajil (present-day the eastern shore of the southern tip of the Indian Peninsula and Achibadan and Gambari).

The picture shows the scene of India** accompanying Zheng He on an elephant tour, and the crowd singing and dancing to welcome him. The picture dance is based on the classical Indian dance "Boroda", with ancient Indian buildings and ships in the background.

The third is "** and cultural exchanges". The screen chooses the situation of trading with Adan. According to historical records, Zheng He's fleet once reached countries belonging to the Arab region, such as "Zufar", "Adan", and "Qifang".

These countries are well documented in Ma Huan's "Yingya Triumph" and Fei Xin's "Xingcha Triumph". The stamp designer referred to the "Legacy of the Arab Empire" published in Japan, so the architecture, costumes, and props of the stamp screen are all well documented. In order to truly express the characteristics of ancient maritime silk, the author even carefully adopted the ancient pattern of "Ming Dynasty Yellow Ground Entwined Flower Satin" on the silk of the picture.

The last one is a "feat in the history of navigation". The picture shows Zheng He's arrival in East Africa. According to historical records, Zheng He's fleet once went to Shirawa, Zhujian, Mugududong, Malin, Rasa, Sunra and other countries belonging to the African region.

This one chooses the night scene as the background, the bright moon is in the sky, the auspicious clouds are cloudy, a beautiful scene of the moon and the wind is clear, and the African people warmly welcome the messenger of the East.

This set of stamps is artistically entirely based on Chinese painting methods, based on fine brushwork and heavy color, but using raw rice paper, which makes the outline of lines and the rendering of colors more vivid. This set of stamps is rich in national characteristics, fully expresses the artistic conception of the picture, and is a highly artistic masterpiece in the stamps.

Everything is boring, and it might be said that nothing is boring. The key lies in what you think and do. It's like listening to a certain song, others think it's not good, but you think it's good. The main thing is a hobby, a matter of thought.
