Zhuangzi, surnamed Zhuang, named Zhou, the word Zixiu (also said Zimu), Song Guomeng (Shangqiu, Henan) people. He was a famous thinker, philosopher, and writer in the middle of the Warring States period of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty. He founded Zhuangxue, an important philosophical school in China, and was a representative of the Taoist school during the Warring States Period after Laozi, and was one of the main representatives of the Taoist school.
There are two trends in the development of the Laozi school: one is to develop into the philosophy of Zhuangzi, and the other is to develop into the theory of Jixia Jingqi.
Zhuang Zhou was not hired by King Chu Wei because he advocated freedom, and only served as a local lacquer garden official in the Song Kingdom in his life. Known as the "proud official of the lacquer garden" in history, it is known as a model of local officials. Zhuangzi was the first to put forward the idea of "inner sage and outer king", which had a profound influence on Confucianism. Zhuangzi's "Three Talents" thought is in line with the "I Ching" Three Talents Way.
His representative work is "Zhuangzi", among which the famous works include "Leisurely Travel" and "The Theory of Things". It is the same name as Lao Tzu and is known as Lao Zhuang. Zhuangzi's imagination is extremely rich, and his language is free and flexible, and he can explain some subtle and indescribable philosophies in a fascinating way.
His works have been called "the philosophy of literature, the literature of philosophy". It is rumored that he tried to live in seclusion in Nanhua Mountain, so Tang Xuanzong Tianbao Chu, edicted Zhuang Zhou as a real person in Nanhua, and called his book "Zhuangzi" as the Nanhua Sutra.

<> "Who is Zhuangzi Zhuangzi's personal information.
Zhuangzi, the name of Zhou, the word Xiu, the number of the stove Nanhua Zhenren, is one of the four real people of Taoism. Zhuangzi was about the same time as King Hui of Liang, King Xuan of Qi, Mencius, Huizi and others, and died at the age of 83. Zhuangzi's ancestors were nobles of the Chu State, and later moved to the Song State due to the turmoil in the Chu State.
Zhuangzi became acquainted with his fellow countryman Huizi in the Song Kingdom. Zhuangzi only worked as a local lacquer garden official, and almost retired all his life. Because he advocates freedom, he should not be hired by the king of Chu Wei of the same sect.
Zhuangzi and Lao Tzu, the ancestor of Taoism, are called "Lao Zhuang", and their philosophical ideology is respected as "Lao Zhuang Philosophy" by the academic circles.
The Zhuangzi was written around the pre-Qin period. There are 52 articles in the Hanshu Art and Literature Chronicles, and 33 articles in this book. Among them, there are seven inner chapters, fifteen outer chapters, and eleven miscellaneous chapters.
The whole book takes "allegory", "tautology" and "dialect" as the main forms of expression, inheriting Laozi's doctrine and advocating relativism, and despising the etiquette and law magnates and advocating freedom and freedom. The prose is unbridled, magnificent and treacherous, and the meaning is out of the dust, which is a model work of the articles of the pre-Qin princes.
There are different accounts of the age of Zhuangzi's life, but it is generally believed to be between 369 and 286 BC. By the time Zhuangzi died, the Song kingdom had already fallen. In "Zhuangzi", there is "the old country and the old capital, and the hope is smooth", and it is obvious that it was called "the old country and the old capital" after the death of the Song Dynasty.
Zhuangzi belongs to Taoism, and it is easy to draw this conclusion from the Zhuangzi. Sima Qian said that Zhuangzi wrote more than 100,000 words, but now there are only 33 chapters and more than 65,000 words in this "Zhuangzi", which is divided into three parts: inner chapter, outer chapter, and miscellaneous chapter.
Hanshu Yiwenzhi contains "Zhuangzi, fifty-two articles", which may have been deleted in Guo Xiang's note "Zhuangzi" in the Jin Dynasty. In the past, it was generally believed that the Zhuangzi was written entirely by Zhuangzi. Since the Song Dynasty, it has become a problem, believing that the inner chapter was written by Zhuangzi himself, while the outer chapter and miscellaneous articles were used by later generations.
In general, the ideas of the book "Zhuangzi" are still unified. Zhuangzi writes books in a unique style, and he calls himself ("Miscellaneous Fables") writes in an eclectic fable.

Zhuangzi was born in the Song Dynasty. There are many theories about the modern geographical location of Mongolia, including Shangqiu in Henan, Mengcheng in Anhui, and Dongming in Shandong.
Zhuangzi was born around 369 BC. This is mainly examined from two aspects: first, the "Historical Records" records that Zhuangzi and King Hui of Liang and King Xuan of Qi were at the same time, and it also records that King Chuwei sent an envoy to hire Zhuangzi with thick coins.
In the first year of King Chu Wei (339 BC), that is, the thirty-second year of King Hui of Liang and the third year of King Xuan of Qi, and King Wei died in the eleventh year (329 BC), and "Zhou Neng Zhi Chu was hired, he must have been thirty or forty years old", then Zhuangzi's birth year should be no later than 369 to 359 BC.
Secondly, "Zhuangzi" "was called by both Marquis Wen of Wei and Marquis of Wu", and King Hui "called him by name at the beginning, also known as Wang", then Zhuangzi's birth year should be "in the life of Marquis Wen of Wei and Marquis Wu, and at the latest in the early years of King Hui", that is, in 369 BC.
The main representative of the Taoist school: Zhuangzi.
Taoism takes "Dao" as the core, believes that the Tao is inaction, advocates the Tao and the law of nature, and puts forward the political, economic, statecraft, and military strategies such as the Tao of Life, the Male and the Female, and the Combination of Rigidity and Softness, and has a simple dialectical thought, which is an extremely important philosophical school in the "Hundred Schools of Thought", which exists in various fields of Chinese culture and has had a huge impact on the culture of China and even the world.
A large number of Chinese and foreign scholars began to notice and absorb the positive ideas of Taoism, so the scholars said: "Taoist thought can be regarded as the product of the greatness of the Chinese nation." It is the center of national thought, and it has the spirit of 'benevolence is benevolence when it is seen, and it is known by those who know, and the people use it every day without knowing it'. ”
