A brief introduction about Du Fu and a brief introduction about his poems

1, Du Fu (February 12, 712 A.D., 770 A.D.), the word Zimei, self-named Shaoling Ye Lao, a famous realist poet in the Tang Dynasty, and Li Bai are collectively called "Li Du". Born in Gong County, Henan Province, he is originally from Xiangyang, Hubei. In order to distinguish it from the other two poets, Li Shangyin and Du Mu, that is, "Little Li Fan Staring Du", Du Fu and Li Bai are also called "Big Li Du", and Du Fu is often called "Old Du".

2. Du Fu traveled to Wu Yue and Qi Zhao successively when he was a teenager, during which he went to Luoyang to fail to do so. After the age of thirty-five, he first took the exam in Chang'an and fell behind; Later, he gave gifts to the emperor and nobles. The officialdom was unwilling and witnessed the extravagance and social crisis of the upper class of the Tang Dynasty.

In the fourteenth year of Tianbao (755), the Anshi Rebellion broke out, Tongguan was lost, and Du Fu traveled to many places successively. In the second year of the Qianyuan Dynasty (759), Du Fu abandoned his official position and entered Sichuan, although he avoided the war and lived a relatively stable life, he still cared about the common people and had national affairs in mind. Du Fu created masterpieces such as "Ascending", "Spring Hope", "Northern Expedition", "Three Officials" and "Three Farewells".

Although Du Fu is a realist poet, he also has a wild and uninhibited side, and it is not difficult to see Du Fu's heroic spirit from his famous work "Song of the Eight Immortals in Drinking".

3. The core of Du Fu's thought is the idea of benevolence, and he has the grand ambition of "to the monarch and the gentleman, and then to make the customs pure". Although Du Fu was not famous during his lifetime, he later became famous and had a profound impact on both Chinese and Japanese literature. A total of about 1,500 poems by Du Fu have been preserved, most of which are collected in the "Du Gongbu Collection".

4. In the winter of the fifth year of the Great Calendar (770), he died of illness at the age of fifty-nine. Du Fu's influence on classical Chinese poetry is very far-reaching, and he is called the "poet saint" by later generations, and his poems are called "poetry history". Later generations called it Du Shiji, Du Gong Department, also known as Du Shaoling, Du Caotang.

In this thriving historical period, the literature of the Tang Dynasty, especially the poetry of the Tang Dynasty, developed to the highest peak in history, and a large number of outstanding poets and excellent works appeared on the poetry scene. Claiming to be Shaoling Ye Lao, he once served as a member of the inspection and engineering department, known as the Du Gong Department, and has the "Du Gong Department Collection". Du Fu was a great realist poet of the Tang Dynasty, and his poems not only pushed the creation of realist poetry to a new peak, but also represented the highest level of realist poetry in the history of ancient Chinese literature. His works extensively and profoundly reflected the social reality of the time, so they were called "poetry history", and it was precisely because Du Fu wrote poetry history that people called him "poetry saint".
