Balzac's place in the history of French literature is very important. He borrowed the characteristics of other literary themes, and integrated various art forms such as drama, epic, painting, and modeling into his creation, which was the first time in the history of Western literature that he had so greatly enriched his artistic skills. Balzac's greatest contribution to realist literature lies in his meticulous portrayal of typical characters and social customs, and in expressing the changes and development of characters' personalities in the social environment. He described the rising bourgeoisie on the aristocratic society in a "chronicle manner" year by year. The characters he created, such as Old Man Gao, Grandet, Gobusick, Rastigne, Lucien, Aunt Bey, and Votollen, have almost become the model images of different types of bourgeois representatives in literary history, and have had a profound impact on later realist literature.

Although these characters are typical, they are not as rigid as the characters portrayed by Dickens, but have distinct personalities.

Honoré de Balzac, a French family, known as the "father of modern France", was born in a middle-class family in Tours in central France, entered law school in 1816, and after graduation, despite the opposition of his parents, he resolutely embarked on the road of literary creation, but his first work was a complete failure in the five-act poetic tragedy "Cromwell". Later, he cooperated with others to engage in the creation of funny** and monster**, and once abandoned literature to engage in business and run a business, and published a series of famous books, all of which failed. The failure of business and business left him in debt, which dragged him down for life, but also laid a solid foundation for his future creations.

In 1829, he took the first step in realism with the publication of the long ** "Juan Party People", and in 1831 he published "The Story of Donkey Skin" which made him famous. In 1834, he completed the work of The Tall Old Man, one of Balzac's finest works. He wanted to make himself a Napoleon in his literary career, and in the 30s and 40s he created a large number of works with amazing perseverance, and wrote a lot in his lifetime, writing 91 ** and creating 2,472 lifelike characters, collectively known as "The Human Comedy".

The Human Comedy has been hailed as "an encyclopedia of capitalist society". However, due to early debts and the hardships of writing, he died of overwork on August 18, 1850.

Honoré de Balzac was born on May 20, 1799, into a middle-class bourgeois family in the city of Zar, where his wife entrusted their son, the wife of a gendarme in the village of Saint-Cyr-et-Et-Et, to be fed by the Balzacs.
