The importance of the National Safety Education Day for primary and secondary school students

Safety work in primary and secondary schools is the most important task in education and is the foundation and premise for running an education that satisfies the people. Local education administrative departments shall, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the safety management measures for primary and secondary schools and kindergartens, further improve the management of major hidden dangers, the monitoring system of major hazards, and improve the forecasting, early warning, prevention and emergency response system.

Strictly implement various safety management measures, continuously enhance the pertinence and effectiveness of safety work, and earnestly make the safety work of primary and secondary schools deeper, more detailed and more practical. Since 1996, China has designated the last Monday of March as the "Safety Education Day" for primary and secondary school students every year. The establishment of this system is to comprehensively and deeply promote the safety education of primary and secondary school students, vigorously reduce the incidence of all kinds of accidents, do a good job in the safety protection of primary and secondary school students, and promote their healthy growth.

The last Monday of March every year is the National Safety Education Day for primary and secondary school students, and the traffic safety of primary and secondary school students to and from school has always been a concern for parents and society.

In February 1996, the State Education Commission, the Ministry of Public Security, and other six ministries and commissions jointly issued a circular designating the last Monday of March as the National Safety Education Day for primary and secondary school students, establishing a national safety education system for primary and secondary school students, and urging the development of safety education.

9. Prevent school violations and improve the ability of adolescents and children to protect themselves.

10. Increase traffic safety knowledge and improve self-protection ability.
