Yuhai Tower is located in the northeast corner of Ruian Ancient City, one of the four famous library buildings in Zhejiang. Sun Yirang (1848-1908), the sixth year of Tongzhi (1867), was a famous Puxue master and educator in the Qing Dynasty of China, and wrote more than 30 books such as "Zhou Li Justice", "Mozi Jian Ji", "Examples of Qiwen", and "Wenzhou Classics". Zhang Taiyan called it "three hundred years of peerless double", and Liang Qichao praised "the palace has a Qing generation, and it is full of brilliance".

Yuhailou contains the former residence of Sun Yirang and Baijin Taozhai, which originally covers an area of about 8,000 square meters, and is surrounded by water on three sides, and enters before and after. The stone forehead of Yuhailou Taimen "Yuhailou Book Collection" is the book of Li Wentian of Shunde, the waiter of the Ministry of Rites, and the stone union "Yucheng Tao Li, the sea is surging" is Guo Moruo's title. Yuhailou was in the house at that time.

The main building is divided into two entrances before and after, the structural form is the same, all are wooden five heavy buildings, heavy eaves hard mountain tops, and the two sides are made of Ruyi-style fire sealing walls.

The ground floor is six rooms deep, and the front and back are corridors. The floor was originally a place to store books, four rooms deep, the front and rear eaves are long open windows, and the south window is set up with a row of sills. There is a patio between the gate and the front building, and there is also a large well and an east-west corridor between the buildings to form a closed courtyard.

There is "Baijin Tao Zhai" in the west again, which is a five-small bay bungalow with a wooden structure; There is a T-shaped rain corridor in its north; In the south, there are "Summer Garden" gardens and lotus ponds.
