What it s like to be a docent in a museum

Working as a docent at a museum gives me a sense of happiness because it's a pleasure for me to be able to spend time with these artifacts every day, and it's an honor for me to let visitors know more about it.

In my freshman year, I gave two exhibitions at the Beijing Art Museum (Wanshou Temple), the winter vacation was "A Thousand Years of Lost Dreams - Xingyao Ceramics Exhibition" and the summer vacation was "A Hundred Years of Voyage - Imari Porcelain Exhibition". I have been a volunteer docent in the city museum for two years, and I have a little experience, because I am a full-time guide to the fixed exhibition hall, so in the ancient handicrafts (my own exhibition hall) and the porcelain exhibition hall (go to the opposite exhibition hall to wander around the knowledge), the two parts are slightly richer than the docent sisters in the museum, but their ability to grasp the whole museum also makes me admire, and it is also what I will learn in the future.

I myself am not only immersed in history, but I also see myself in history. It was as if I saw where I wanted to go and where I should go. In order to ensure the quality of the explanation, I forced myself to learn a lot.

I found that my knowledge was growing very fast. In order to give roses to others, I planted a rose garden myself, so I harvested the rose garden, probably a gift from God to my original intention.

I feel like being part of the lives of different people, being a part of many people's life experiences, and hearing their compliments on our school, my major, and myself (I'm quite relatable, and the audience often asks these questions). I think it's quite rewarding to be able to add to my grandparents' retirement life.

For me, working as a docent in a museum is a very rewarding experience and memories. Last summer, I went from Taiwan to Ningbo Tianyi Pavilion as an intern as a docent for a month, and I still remember all kinds of memories I experienced during that time, and I also have some basic understanding of museum docents.

I volunteered as a showroom docent for a summer. If there is any experience, it is probably that the audience believes in the explanation unconditionally, and I think they will believe it if I really say it - in addition to the authenticity of the exhibits, there are always viewers who think that the museum will not take out the original and display it.

The overall feeling is that even people of the same age and the same level of education are quite different, and this form of the same explanation is not very scientific, let alone a museum with a unified explanation, but there is no better way at present.

Basically, the tour group will not step into the exhibition hall, and their walking speed is 2 or 3 times that of the scattered audience, so the atmosphere inside and outside the house is completely different, which is very interesting.

I must be very happy, after all, I can, let others know the origin of these items, and some history.

I am very proud to be a docent at the museum, and I will make the most of every opportunity to do so.

Just like I was born in that era, every day I have a new understanding of that ancient event and that time when that item occurred.

I think that's a feeling of pride, because people are curious and attentive to what you're saying.

I feel very knowledgeable and accomplished, but I can also be nervous.

Every time I explain the objects in the museum, I feel very proud.

I used to think that it was enough to just convey the knowledge about cultural relics to the audience, but in the process of contact, understanding and deepening, I felt the comprehensiveness of this profession.

If we go back to the state of being in the classroom, we will know that it is difficult for a person, no matter how much he wants to concentrate, to concentrate on listening to every content that the teacher has to say in 60 minutes of a class.

Therefore, for an explanation of about 80 minutes, how to attract the audience to listen to your explanation, how to close the relationship between different groups of people and ancient cultural relics, and how to tell their stories instead of cultural relics have undoubtedly become the biggest problem.

The most important thing is the explanatory words, which come from a large amount of historical information, whether it is the internal materials of the museum or reading books or academic documents, sorting out their own language, after repeated assessments, each museum has been assessed more than a dozen times, so that the word "assessment" has a sense of vertigo.

It contains the rigor of the sentences, such as the distinction between the meanings of "culture" and "civilization", such as the selection of words for "determination" and "inference", and how to sublimate the final foothold of each cultural relic.

Museum docents require a tour guide pass or a Mandarin Class A certificate.

Museum docents are divided into full-time docents and volunteer docents. Full-time docents are recruited through the public after professional training to take up the post, generally requires a college degree or above, liberal arts, especially broadcasting hosts, journalism, Chinese language and literature, foreign language majors before training, generally requires female students and above, male rice and to rotten on the thick, image and temperament are good, there are individual museum requirements if there is a tour guide certificate or Mandarin A certificate can be preferred.
